Troy youth church volunteer arrested on child porn charges
TROY, Ala (WDHN) — A local youth group volunteer from Troy was arrested
last month on child pornography charges.
Pike County District Attorney James Tarbox says Samuel Andrew McCall was arrested
on Wednesday, January 29, and charged with one count of Possession of Child
Pornography with Intent to Disseminate.
McCall was arrested by state agents after an investigation with the Internet
Crimes Against Children task force.
Federal judge sides with Alabama city in fight against former police chief
Tarbox says agents are going through electronic devices seized during a search
and additional charges are expected.
The DA tells WDHN that at the time of McCall’s arrest, he was a volunteer
in a local church youth group, but it is not believed that there are any local
victims of the child pornography.
“However, the District Attorney’s Office recommends anyone who
believes they or their child may have been victimized by McCall to contact their
local law enforcement agency,” said DA Tarbox.
McCall was released from the Pike County Jail on Monday, January 3, on a $25,000
bond.
